New Years Eve Dresses

30 Dec
Wondering what to wear for New Year’s Eve? We have the short-list of looks that will have you ready to celebrate the closing of 2013 and look forward to 2014!
New Years Eve Dressed
We tried to come up with the top four looks that will make heads turn and jaw drop. Each of these dresses is in a hue that will be sure to have people asking you were you purchased your dress. For 2014 we envision gold, black, with jewel tones. There is something timeless about the black and gold look. Of course, if there is a shimmer to it, even better! The alternative for the gold and black is the jewel tones of a sapphire blue. With any of these dresses you can add statement necklaces and sky high heels.

What do you plan on wearing? Be sure to Tweet us photos or tag us on Instagram so we can see how you are rocking these classic looks!

Christmas Stocking Stuffer Guide

17 Dec
We are just one week away from Christmas Eve and the time is ticking down to get all those last minute gifts purchased! We wanted to give you all just a few ideas of what you can stuff in your favorite pin-up girl’s stocking this year!
We talked about what our favorite beauty items were from this last year, and what we would want to see stuffed in our stocking to help up ring in the New Year to come up with this list for you!
Christmas Stocking Stuffer

Body moisturizer

Above are the links to purchasing the items online, but let us break down each item and why we love them and think you will too!
**In order of the list above**
1)Eos Lip Balm: These round lip balms are perfect for winter and keeping your lips moist in the harsh dry climate. We love these because you simply twist off and rub the round form to your lips. We find that we don’t have to reapply as often as with other lip balms. The other wonderful thing about Eos is that they are not overpowering in their scents and flavors, something we hate. The best part of this, right now at Target you can buy them in super cute present sets!
2)Stress Relief Body Lotion in Lavender and Eucalyptus: During a road trip in November, one of our friends brought this lotion with her. When she put it on, it made the car smell like a day spa – of course we had to try it! The lotion keeps your hands wonderfully moisturized throughout the day while making you feel clam and relaxed. We keep a bottle handy in the office for when our hands get dry.
3) Clinique Chubby Sticks: All right, we had our doubts when we were offered this product. We received these as free promotion items and thought they would be a regular lipstick, what we found instead was a hybrid lip balm/lipstick. The Chubby Stick has the color of a nice lipstick but goes on like a lip balm with the long lasting wear! We also like that this is a twist up, so you don’t have to sharpen it or use your fingers!
4)L’Oreal Butterfly Mascara: A few months back I saw a review for this mascara on a beauty blog on Youtube and was obsessed with trying it. I don’t like spending a lot of money on mascara, I feel most dry out quickly or the wand does not apply the way I like it to. This mascara is affordable and the application wand is great. The wand fans out at the edge catching your eyelashes and extending them out. It gives you wonderful length and it doesn’t clump. I usually apply one coat to lengthen and then an additional one to add volume.
5) Naked3 Palette by Urban Decay: This is the most pricey item on our list, but we can’t live without it. This palette has all the neutral colors you can ask for. You can mix and match them to make your eyes light or add color to make it bold and smokey. This palette really is a go-to for any and all occasions.
These are just a few of our favorite things, what are you looking forward to see stuffed in your stocking Christmas morning? Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season as it quickly winds down.

Fast Tip Wednesday: Headband Up-Do

11 Dec

Happy Wednesday Dolls!

With the holiday season in full swing, we are looking for ways to make the most of our time and our looks! We are currently in the process of putting together a look book for must-have Christmas presents to give or get! But until we share that little joy with you, we wanted to bring you another set of fast tips!

It has been a while since I have really thought about what is something that a vintage loving woman may need to know. We have done quick victory rolls, and how to wrap a bandana in your hair, today I decided to bring you the headband up-do.

While this style may seem more bo-ho chic, it really is just a throwback to the 1920’s and 1930’s. What this hairstyle really reminds me of is the lovely ladies of Downton Abbey.

It is not my goal to look as stylized as the above, but to complete the look you really only need a headband, a few bobby pins and your hair! What really can be any better than that?

The above photo I found on Pinterest, and it looked simple enough, but if you are anything like me, I wanted someone to talk me through it. I found the following Youtube video that is a mere 3 minutes on how to recreate this hairstyle.

I was so excited to try this out, the first attempt was not as perfect as a I hoped for, but by the third attempt I seemed to have it down. The day I attempted this hairstyle I wore my FAVORITE Stop Staring! Flawless Fitted Dress, can I just say I got so many compliments in the office!

This really is an easy and fast way to make your hair look great without having to spend too much time on it.

Mondays are for Manicures!

9 Dec

Happy Monday Dolls!

As we head into the new week, and the realization that Christmas is just 15 days away, we wanted to give you a few ideas of how you can wear your nails for the holiday season!

We wanted to mix a little of the new styles with something of the old.

1) Reverse French Tip Manicure:

Clearly you do you need to stick to white for this look, and we love the idea of using red as the primary color. For this look, you are emphasizing the half circle shape that naturally occurs on your nail bed. If you are doing this at home, instead of taping off the top of your nails, you will tape off the bottom portion. You can do two-toned or one color. We of course love using red!

2) Talking about Red…..ANYTHING RED!

This is Chauncer from Butter London. This color is one of our absolute FAVORITES to use during the holidays. This color is a ruby slipper red with all the shine! It has glitter to it that makes your nails stand out against anything you are wearing. When you wear red, it really is a show stopper.

We also like the following:

Myrtle by Julep

Scarlett by Julep

3) Designs!

If you are part of the nail trend, then you know that nail art is all the rage. The holidays is the perfect time to experiment with something different. You can do something as simple as a snowflake or a Christmas tree. I really love adding something extra to my manicures to break it up. You can also add an accent nail.

Tis the season! Enjoy and go crazy with your manicures! If you post a photo to Instagram of your new manicure, tag us so we can see all your wonderful ideas!
