Magic Round Up

15 Feb
Hey dolls, we hope you enjoyed our tweets from the Magic trades show in Las Vegas. For those of you who haven’t been following our twitter, don’t worry we are about to do a little wrap up of the event, and if you are interested in following us our twitter handle is @vintagerevblog. Don’t worry if you were up-to-date on the tweets we are gong to be showing you some BRAND NEW dresses and purses we scoped out for everyone!
We had an absolute blast representing JBR Clothing at Magic! It was a chance for us to see old friends and get up close and personal with the newest lines from our favorite brands. Be warned ladies, while everything is to die for, most of the new items will not be arriving until JUNE! I know, I know, it seems so far away, but at least now we can start planning our summer wardrobes!!!!!!!
Our first stop that we made was at Stop Staring. We may have screamed a little when we walked up, EVERYTHING was gorgeous.
This is one of our favorite models rocking this nautical inspired dress. This dress is a must have for summer! It is so flattering and the material is great. We felt like she could have just come from a cruise around the marina with a glass of champagne.
All of the models were wonderful for us and tried on everything we thought might be a hit with our fans. Here are a few more photos that we didn’t post to twitter.
Our next stop at the show was to check out Sourpuss and see if there were any accessories that we thought you all would like. I tried to convince myself that you would all love the skull cupcake cookie jar holder, but instead we looked at great coin purses and bags!
We made sure to get prints that were fun, quirky, and unique. One of the designers was on hand and was mentioning how he took inspiration for his designs straight from vintage prints he has found. He wanted the new bags to look like they have been preserved from the past. Everyone here was rockabilly chic, they had on some great looks, we felt inspired by them! We found a bowling bag we think everyone will love. It was in the picture posted to twitter! It has a geisha/sailor on the front with a blue background. It is to die for!
We also made a stop at Bettie Paige where they gave us a mini fashion show of their spring/summer items. This first dress we posted on twitter, but we didn’t get to show you the fun part, the petty coat!

The pop of pink beneath the dress really makes it! We all wanted to get one to take to a swing club to go dancing. This would look great when you are being spun on the floor! The model also shared a secret with us about the dress…..it is super supportive! Come on ladies, we know how important it can be for a dress to help support your bust, and the model told us that she felt it was supportive enough to wear without a bra!

The picture doesn’t do this dress justice! This dress is darling, with Eiffel towers on the blue print and the back had some detailed criss-crossing. It even comes with the orange accent belt that gives an extra pop of color!

This last dress is a wonderful shade of pink. It is a mix between a rose color and a peach color. When I saw it I felt like any woman could wear this and look like her skin was just glowing. This is another MUST HAVE dress!
One of our last stops for the show was to Lounge Fly. We have been playing with the idea of carrying their bags and we took some pictures of our favorite skull bags for you to take a look at.

While these may not be skulls it was too cute to pass up a picture opportunity.

We want all of you to tell us what you think of these bags? Do you want us to carry other Lounge Fly bags, like the ones with Hello Kitty, Gnomes, or Owls? Leave us a comment after the post and let us know YOUR thoughts. Describe the bag you would to see us carry.
We are so excited that we got to share this trip with you! We love taking our fans one our trips with us! We hope you all enjoyed the photos and are as excited about the new lines as we were!
Don’t forget to let us know what your favorite items were!

Vintage Revolution: Polka Dot Paradise

11 Feb

Vintage Revolution: Polka Dot Paradise: Find out which start inspires use with her polka dot clothing and how you can find a dress that will help bring the spring trend to life!

Polka Dot Paradise

11 Feb
If you are like us, and are already looking forward to spring, then you may have been spending the last few weeks flipping through magazines and blogs to find out what you will need for your closet. We are happy to be of some assistance in letting you know, if you haven’t heard by now, that polka dots are going to be a must have!
Polka dots are great because they have the ability to look playful and work appropriate all at the same time! What’s more is that polka dots are timeless. They never go out of style and always look ultra feminine! One of our favorite celeb inspiration comes from Zooey Deschanel!
Whether it is on her hit show New Girl, or just gracing the cover of a magazine, this starlet has a definite vintage flare. She always has on bright colors and silhouettes that make her look like a classic starlet!
Taking our inspiration from Zooey and the runways, we have scanned through our inventory and have come up with some of our favorite picks for you! These dresses have different variations of polka dots, so you can find the best choice for your style.

This is the Girl Friday dress by Lolita-Girl. When we first got this dress in we fell in love with it for the color alone! This blue is wonderful, it is bright and reminds us of warm weather and strappy sandals! The polka dots are brown, which means it can be paired with most of your neutral colored platforms and purses. The icing on our frosted cupcake was the back! The back has these cute bows that make you feel like no matter what angle someone sees you at, they won’t be able to stop staring!

Our second favorite is Loop Pocket by Steady Clothing. This one is great for those of you who are still unsure about the trend. This dress has a peek-a-boo effect with how they are using polka dots. You can see a hint of them on the front of the dress in the lapels and then another hint in the back where there is a cross over bow strap. This was a pick for us because we liked how the dress comes in a solid color and the polka dots are used as accents. There is more to play with in this dress because of it.
If you are looking for a way to wear polka dots in a sophisticated way, we have just the dress for you! It is the Stop Staring! Starlight Swing Dress
This dress is the epitome of old Hollywood glamor! You can wear this to an elegant event in the evening, or a wedding. The dress is a dark shade of blue with black taffeta over the top. The taffeta has “dots” all over it making it appear like there are polka dots. This is our top pick for ladies who are looking for a more formal way to wear polka dots. It is fun and chic all at the same time!

We are obviously all over this trend for spring and can’t wait to take our dresses out to a ladies luncheon, or maybe even a Valentine’s date. Anyway that you look at it, polka dots are a trend you won’t be able to hide from, so instead of resisting find a favorite way to wear this trend!

Post a comment here, or tweet us, about YOUR favorite polka dot item and how you are wearing it!
